I didn't know that James McCune Smith and Philip A Bell were friends
Shadd Maruna is obviously a psychopath himself. His whole shtick is to act like a professor, complete with mannered stammering. He's a psychopath advocating for others psychopaths. His job is to help clear the field so that psychopathology can be seen in a more positive light. He is the example of which he speaks. His performance might fool most, but not all.
Disgraceful
These are definitely helpful tips! Thank you for sharing 👏🏾
Thanks for sharing
This will come in handy
Useful tips... Thank you 🙌

Am a new student in Glasgow though haven't arrived but I want to know if theres any enrollment fee before installment. Thanks
The heavy reliance [on/of] ~ needing to repetitively tell and refer to the Tower Of Babel story, just to explain a point, is no different to the sound of a squawking parrot or a boobrookling pigeon.
Am a new masters student coming to Glasgow This is out of content, kindly reply. Do i have to pay enrollment fee at registration after the initial deposit?
Like professor
That building is so poorly managed 😍
I should hav watchrd this video 10 years ago. He is explain ung a complex problem in an understandebel way. This shows two things. One, he knows what he is taking about, two, he is a great teatcher. An absolutte plesure to listen to. And of course, I copletly agree with everithibg he is saying here.
This is great! Thank you for the taster

As an Ethiopian studying at the University of Glasgow, I'm very happy not only to see a fellow Ethiopian with an hononary award but its an inspiration that any person from the global south could turn out to be at the front of leading the world in health. It also shined a new perspective of the uni. I didn't know all these people were once a student like me.

Enjoyed the symphony! Listen to the andante from the cello sonata op 19 Rachmaninov. There is a piano transcription by Volodos also.
Where is this ky?
I'd rather stay in the States.😅
😮
Never made it to the university but often passed by it while serving my apprenticeship, it is a beautiful piece of architecture in a lovely part of Glasgow .Jealous of all those that studied there looks inspiring.
😂what a joke!
One video for statistics student
Disgusting.
Do you think Jewish students will feel safe with the newly appointed rector given his outspoken comments about Israel and his recent detention by Security Services in Germany?
Jewish students avoid Glasgow University. There's a real stench of antisemitism around the new Rector; so much so that he was detained by security services in Germany recently.
Aaa this is feel so special😍😍
This is riddled with historical innacurracies. Everything this guy said is nonsense, he completely misrepresents archaeology. This is not secret information, it's widely available. For example, Catal Huyuk and all the earliest villages were built by hunter gatherers, not agriculturalists. They settled down and slowly started domesticating crops. Agriculture is the end result, it's not the reason settlements were built. The earliest forms of agriculture required the vast majority of the population to work in agriculture, very few could specialize in a different job, which didn't change until the Industrial Revolution. There was not 1 source of agriculture that everybody else copied, agriculture was developed many times in many different places over 1000s of years. Small societies are not scale free, society and economy changed dramatically with the first cities in Mesopotamia and Egypt. This guy claims the earliest humans were warlike, yet the archaoleogical record shows a remarkable lack of intergroup violence until after the first settlements, and large scale warfare only emerges during the creation of the first civilizations. I don't think anything this guy said is remotely accurate. Hunter gatherers do not live on the brink of starvation. They don't store food is because they don't need to, just like most animals don't store food. There's plenty food everywhere if you know how to hunt and forage (but much harder in the modern era when so much land is claimed by civilization.) Hunter gatherers do not spend any longer getting food than the modern workday.

Yeah Glasgow is deceptively cold, looking at the degree's is completely unhelpful, with the rain, the damp, the humidity and the wind its always like 5-10 degrees colder than you think.
Yeah most Scottish people don't use umbrellas, you'll see them in the city centre but that's mostly tourists using them. You never know when its going to rain in Glasgow so you's literally have to take an umbrella out every time you leave the house, which is why most Scottish people don't bother with umbrellas.

this guy is incredibly wrong on so many things. i had to stop at 32:00. This is horrible!
Need to see more Day in the life videos of Computer Science Students Please!!!
Hey, cool, thanks for the video. I did Comp Sci at Glasgow from 77-81. At the time they were in Lillybank gardens and the department had Digital Computers pdp-11 and a Vax computers. We all got to program on TTY terminals on a Unix system. Well, except first year, that was punch cards on a IBM mainframe in Newcastle. Times they change a lot. The Vax is about the same power as a S3 Qt Py now the size of a thumbnail and costing $12.50! We also have ChatGPT as a power programming tool. Wondering what OS and languages you get to use? Do you have a link to your company and it's project?
I'm in the same year, and can say that in terms of programming languages we'll have learned Python, Java, and C by the end of 3rd year. Other languages can be learnt in optional courses. We learn to use Linux at the start of the 3rd year as well. Can't say too much about the project since that's different for everyone.
@@axelquestion Thanks, perhaps someone else could do a video overview of the curriculum for the various years. Perhaps another on comp sci research topics at the Uni. Also interesting would be the applications of comp sci in emerging market spaces(robotics, 3D printing, media, medical AI,...) and what the course work does to help prepare students for those kind of jobs.
@@georgemacdonald8899 Since a lot of courses are based on what you choose it will be different person to person, the more people the better the overview. As for jobs preparation I feel like the coursework given is actually quite decent as it's pretty similar to what I experienced in data science field and frontend stuffs, however it's not specific enough to really transfer every skills over. The task i was given was basically managing a website with tailwind css, mongodb, and react; that's pretty standard but I feel like the django course in year 2 was not so applicable (again, depends person-to-person) and they could give a better overview of a structure of a website. but on a positive note, other than that I enjoyed every single one of my courses
